Sorry I have not been updating the website as promised but I have been so busy keeping these horses in work that I have come to the decision that I have to sell some horses earlier than I would like to as altogether I have ten horses. I was hoping that by the end of the summer that Julian and I would be able to manage running the yard together, but at the moment would financially find it to risky .so unfortunately we will have to part with some of our lovely horses earlier than expected. I need to sell three horses and I can't decide who so I will put everyone for sale except Ben as he needs more time as he was very nervous when he arrived and it would be unfair on his behalf to sell him on.So I will leave it up to yourselves to decide,I do have my favourite who I would love to keep but i'm afraid I will have to keep my buisness head if i've got one!!!! I do think Melvin is nearly ready as he has such a nice temperment and is so easy going,he just need's a nice mum or dad to hack him,school etc and have some fun.Oliver is ready for the right mum or dad,Jess is just lovely for a sport's horse and allrounder,Tilly is a easy(classy) project for someone and Mandy is a nice project for someone that want's a horse that can jump well !!! I recently received a lovely letter and photo's from Louise who bought Lottie.She has been to pony club camp this summer and also tackled a one day event.It is so nice to hear how everybody is getting.
I would like to thank everyone who has encouraged me and my family to have a go at bringing on some more Irish Horses. If you have not been on this website before I will just explain to you how I have got myself into this situation.
About two years ago my eldest daughter, who is now nearly fifteen, was without a horse. Her pony, Tom, had pulled a tendon and was going to be out of work for a long time, so I decided with Emma being 5ft.11 it was time she moved onto horses. I wanted an irish all rounder between 15.3-16.1HH, not a sports horse, so off I went on a hunt to find a horse, six months later I still hadn't found one. I went further and further around the country and I found horses but I was so disappointed not with the horses it wasn't their fault, some just needed more time to mature physically, others mentally and some were just not what was described in the first place which was quite frustrating!!!
In the end I found two on the same day both very nice horses one was ready for Emma to ride straight away (Brian), the other horse (Sean) had not long arrived from Ireland and was very nice but needed more time. Because it took so long to find them, I bought them both and decided to bring Sean on and eventually sell him when he was ready. I sold Sean ten months later and what a lovely horse he turned out to be. If only he was bigger, Emma would have had him for life but he went to a lovely person who kindly keeps me updated. To cut a long story short Emma wanted a horse she could do pony club on and Brian ticked every box. He was brilliant but by the end of the summer Emma decided she wanted to hunt. The only problem was we had bought Brian from a hunting home and we were told he did not enjoy it! He did everything else so we sold him as I didn't want to ruin such a lovely horse.
I think selling Sean and Brian was one of the hardest things I have done. Parting with horses is a hard thing to do but I thought if I brought these horses on and say what type of job I they need they hopefully will have long term homes because they have been matched to the right riders. Therefore, I'm going to have a go at bringing on a few and will keep you posted through the diary. Tom, Emma's pony has come sound now so Emma is going to hunt him until we find something bigger, but in the meantime she will have some fun on him.

First of all, let me introduce you to my one and only Julian. In the past Julian has professionally show jumped but decided to give it all up to hunt. Julian then worked his way up and was first whipper-in for the Belvoir hunt even having the opportunity to hunt the Belvoir hounds on more than one occasion, but unfortunately had to leave the job he loved to look after the family butchers shop, due to very sad family circumstances.
Now let me introduce you to myself, I don't have the same track record as Julian but I have worked in racing, hunting, eventing and dressage yards. I have a passion for schooling young horses and at the moment I am
re-schooling my own ex-racehorse, Frank. I would not get anywhere with him if I didn't have the knowledge of the Monty Roberts technique.(i would love to event him one day!!!!).
Last but not least we have three children Emma who I have already mentioned, Alfie, who is six and Clara, who is eight. We are a very close knit family and hopefully you will get to know us more by following our diary.

Some of you who may have followed our diary before would have noticed that we all rode Sean and Brian. I do most of the schooling on the flat plus a lot of hacking. Julian helps Emma and myself with any jump training sessions. Emma and Julian do most of the hunting and when we think our horses are ready they are taken to shows, plus Emma will take them to Pony Club events. So I hope you can judge our horses for yourself and follow the diary.
I am passionate about my horses and want what's right not wrong.
